On Sunday, 23rd July, Halliwell Jones Warrington proudly participated in the annual St Rocco’s Dragon Boat Race, held at the Warrington Rowing Club.
St Rocco’s Hospice is a cornerstone of the Warrington community, providing specialist care and unwavering support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. For many residents, the hospice holds a deep personal significance, having touched the lives of countless family members and friends.
A huge well done to all the Halliwell Jones staff who participated in the race! Despite the weather, everyone had an amazing time. Out of 15 teams and three heats, we made it into the final race. The final was incredibly close, and after a nail-biting photo finish, we secured 2nd place! This is a fantastic achievement, especially considering that none of the team had rowed a boat before—let alone with 16 people trying to row in sync.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the entire event raised an astounding £22,000, with Halliwell Jones contributing £2,521 to the total.
Here’s to next year, where we’ll aim for that 1st place finish! We are immensely proud to support St Rocco’s Hospice and the extraordinary impact they have on our community.
